“Opel Works Drivers to compete in German Championship Event”
The Opel works team enters two ADAM R2’s on the AvD Sachsen Rallye. The Opel Rallye Junior Drivers will use the event as a test to gain more kilometres. Local Zwickau driver Julius Tannert and the team’s new English signing Chris Ingram.

The AvD Sachsen Rallye around Zwickau is not only the oldest but also the most popular events in Germany. Twelve demanding asphalt stages over 136.12 kilometers are during the rally on 20/21. May deal with – and Opel’s two factory ADAM R2 from the Junior European Championship (FIA ERC Junior) here. The two 190-hp runabout be piloted by Julius Tannert / Jennifer Thielen and Chris Ingram / Katrin Becker and are reported in the class RC4 of the German Rally Championship.

For Julius Tannert the AvD Sachsen Rallye is a real home game. Born in Zwickau want in front of friends and fans to set a good image of the driver of the ADAC Opel Rally Junior Team. “My home event to be able to contest as Opel works driver for the first time, certainly a great experience, and I look forward to the numerous spectators and the great stages in my home,” says the 25-year-old. But “At the same time it is also an excellent opportunity to test in view of the still coming asphalt rallies. And wishing Jenny, I and the entire team of course get the most. ”

For Chris Ingram (21, Manchester), scored a 2nd position on a strong debut in the Opel Rallye Team at the JERC opener in Ireland, he’ll go to Saxony for more driving experience in the new machine: “I felt in Ireland the high limit of the ADAM R2 and couldn’t keep the performance in all situations. Clearly, I need more kilometers in this fantastic rally car. Although I do not know the Sachsen Rally, but will be able to benefit from the experience of my co-driver Katrin and my teammates Julius. I am looking forward to the rally, as was reported to me, it is one of the most popular in Germany.”

The team have also completed their first gravel tests of the season in Austria, in preparation for the next round of the FIA ERC Juniors – Rally Azores (1-4 June)
